Apollo was incorporated in 1982 and has spent more than three decades on Tri-Cities heating and cooling. Technicians, installers, the dispatch desk and a hands-on fireplace showroom work from one building in Kennewick, and the vans leave it day and night.

Expert HVAC Solutions for Every Season

Heating, cooling and clean air, from one room to a whole building

Residential heating and air conditioning, ductless systems and indoor air quality for homes across the Tri-Cities, and a commercial department that designs, installs and services rooftop units, boilers and chillers. Carrier is the equipment Apollo sells; the service vans work on every brand.

  1. Wiring

    First

    Electrical connections inspected and tightened

Loose lugs and tired contactors cause more no-cooling calls than failed compressors. Every Apollo maintenance visit starts at the disconnect and works through the wiring before anything else runs.

  2. Freon

    Then

Refrigerant read on the gauge manifold

High and low side readings tell the technician whether the system is short of charge, overcharged or right where it should be. A low reading means find the leak first, not top it up and hope.

  3. Coil

    Then

    Indoor coil inspected and cleaned

A dirty evaporator coil starves the system of airflow, so the house never pulls down on a July afternoon. Cleaning it is on the checklist for every visit.

  4. Stat

    Last

    Thermostat operation checked

Heat pumps need the right staging and the right Emergency Heat behaviour. The thermostat is tested last, so the system you leave with is the system you set.

Questions people call about

Heat pumps, tune-ups and the 24-hour line

Straight from Apollo’s own FAQ and service plan. Anything else, the office answers on (509) 396-2653.

Every question24 Hour Service(509) 396-COLD(509) 396-2653, any hour, any day

At least once a year. The heating is best tuned up in the fall and the air conditioning in the spring, before heavy use. A Scheduled Planned Service Agreement keeps both on the calendar.

Only in an emergency, when the heat pump itself has failed. Heat pumps in northern climates need a supplemental heat source below about 35 degrees, and that second stage comes on automatically. If the house is cold and the heat pump is not running, switch to Emergency Heat and call (509) 396-2653.

Yes. Apollo runs 24 Hour Service, seven days a week, on (509) 396-2653, also written 396-COLD on every van.

Electrical connections and wiring are inspected and tightened, heating and cooling operation and Freon levels are checked, mechanical connections inspected, the thermostat tested, bearings inspected where fitted, the indoor coil inspected and cleaned, and motors oiled where needed.

Yes. Apollo designs, installs and services commercial heating and air conditioning, rooftop units, boilers and chillers, with a 24-hour service department and zoning designed by in-house specialists.
